It wouldn't be a photo site of Maui without at least a few pictures of sunsets.
I must have hundreds of pictures of sunsets lying around the house.
In this picture, the sun is setting next to Molokai and just over Oahu in the distance.
As the year goes on the sun sets more and more to the left. By the fall it's setting behind the island of Lanai. |

This is a photo of one of the small villages in Maui off the road to Western Maui.
It's very beautiful, but also very desolate in this part of Maui. It's amazing that on a relatively small island there are such contrasts in landscapes an terrain.
Notice the lush valleys and mountains.

Here is another random shot off the road to nowhere. In this case, we are pretty far around the island.
Notice the small house on the bluff. Now that's privacy - it's just a 3 hour ride to town. No problem.
