The view from the house over looks the channel between Maui and Molokai which is spectacular.
I often found you could sit outside for long periods of time just watching and listening to the sounds of the ocean.
As a kid, I would harass the black crabs and explore the rocks and small caves.
The houses sit up on a bluff above the lava rocks so you can always hear the ocean waves crashing the rocks below while sitting outside or sleeping. |

Each of the houses has beautiful landscaping and exotic fruit trees growing in the yards. |

On our property we had a banana tree, lemon tree and the luscious lime tree. The lime tree was so fertile it dropped limes almost continuously. These limes are yellow when ripe and have very thin skin and are all juice. |

After having these fresh limes in a Mia Tai drink, the dark green limes in the supermarket never really seem that good anymore! |

This view was always my favorite since you can look down to coast to Kapalua. You can actually look down and see the 3 coves before Kapalua. |

One of our favorite beaches when we were kids was Napili for snorkeling and the occasional big waves. It's two coves down on the right. |

The water colors are magnificent with ranges from deep pacific blue to shades of light blue and turquoise |

One of our favorite things to do was sit in the front yard and look at water and boats that come up along the coast.
You can easily see how you could spend hours just relaxing with a view like this.
Add in whales and schools of dolphins swimming by, you can easily see why it was hard to leave the house even to go to the beach. |

Every afternoon when the sun begins to set low in the western sky, it seems like the whole island gets ready to celebrate the end of another day of sun. |
![](1x1.gif) |
It was no different at our house, the setting of the sun became a tradition for us. We would gather around outside and celebrate another wonderful day in paradise. |

And usually we celebrated the past day over a Mai Tai. Ok, we always celebrated over a Mai Tai. When in Rome, do as the Romans! |

And by the way this is my very special Mom! |

The spirit house
|
This authentic oriental Spirit House was brought back by grandparents from one of their trips to Asia.
Hawaiians are very spiritual and this house and all it stood for was taken very seriously. Don't mess with the spirit house.
Unfortunately it was destroyed in a severe storm several years ago.
